What happens at a follow-up?

A follow-up consultation is a planned review with the same Consultant Gynaecologist who assessed you initially, to discuss investigation results, evaluate treatment response, or decide on the next clinical step. Because Mr Naoum has already taken your history and formed a working impression, the follow-up is focused and efficient. You do not need to repeat your story.

This appointment is shorter than an initial consultation because the groundwork has been done. If the follow-up reveals that further investigation or a change of direction is needed, that is discussed and arranged during the same visit.

When to book a follow-up vs a new consultation

Book a follow-up if:

  • You have had an initial consultation at this clinic and need to review results.
  • You are on treatment prescribed by Mr Naoum and need a progress check.
  • You have had a procedure (colposcopy, coil fitting, hyfrecation) and need a planned review.
  • The clinic has asked you to return at a specific interval.

Book an initial consultation if:

  • You are a new patient or have not been seen for this issue before.
  • You have a new, unrelated concern that has not been assessed.
  • It has been more than 12 months since your last appointment and your situation has changed significantly.

If you are unsure, call reception. They will advise which appointment to book.

Results you might be reviewing

Follow-ups cover a range of scenarios. Common reasons include:

  • Blood test results. Hormone panels, ovarian reserve markers, thyroid function, or PCOS profiles ordered at your initial appointment.
  • Ultrasound findings. Review of pelvic ultrasound images and measurements, including cyst monitoring, fibroid sizing, or endometrial assessment.
  • Smear or biopsy results. Discussion of cervical screening outcomes and whether colposcopy or further monitoring is needed.
  • Treatment response. Assessment of how well medication is working (hormonal treatment, pain management, HRT) and whether adjustments are needed.
  • Post-procedure review. Check after a coil fitting, hyfrecation, or other procedure to confirm healing and address any concerns.

Pricing and booking

Follow-up Consultant Gynaecologist consultation£200

You pay a £100 online deposit to request the booking. The remaining £100 is paid at the clinic. If further tests are arranged at the follow-up, those costs are quoted separately.

The follow-up price reflects the shorter appointment time. It assumes Mr Naoum has an existing clinical record from a prior visit. If you have not been seen before, please book an initial consultation (£250).

Continuity without delay

One of the frustrations of NHS gynaecology is seeing a different doctor at each visit. You repeat your history, explain what was discussed last time, and hope the notes are up to date. Decisions get deferred because the doctor in front of you was not the one who ordered the tests.

At this clinic, Mr Naoum sees you at every visit. He ordered the investigations, he reads the results, and he adjusts the plan. Follow-ups are efficient because continuity is built in, not hoped for.
